Davinson Sanchez scored a stoppage-time winner as Tottenham Hotspur closed the gap on fourth-placed Arsenal to two points with a 1-0 victory against Watford at Vicarage Road.
Watford, who had not kept a clean sheet all season, defended resolutely throughout and were indebted to Daniel Bachmann, who made his first big save to keep out Sergio Reguilon's drive on 26 minutes.
Harry Kane then fired just wide five minutes later after Watford's Imran Louza lost possession outside his own penalty area.
Lucas Moura tested Bachmann with a stinging 50th-minute shot and the 'keeper tipped Kane's drive over moments later.
Watford had their chances too, as Joshua King went close with a header and had a shot saved by Hugo Lloris before Joao Pedro lashed a free-kick over.
Bachmann produced a great save to keep out Son Heung-min's clipped effort with 18 minutes remaining before Sanchez struck in the sixth minute of added time, flicking home Son's superb free-kick from close range.
Spurs are in sixth but have two matches in hand on Arsenal. Watford stay 17th with 13 points, two points clear of the relegation zone.
