Many teams have had their time at the top but perhaps the greatest measure of success is the ability to sustain it over many years.
With three matches left of 2019, that is exactly what Manchester City have done.
Against Leicester City on Saturday they have the chance to become only the second team in English top-flight history to win 250 times in a decade.
If City beat Leicester, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United they will end the 2010s with 252 victories from 381 matches.
That would fall just three short of the record, set in the 2000s by Manchester United, who also played 381 times.

But how has everyone else fared in the 2010s?
Interestingly, Chelsea and Man Utd are locked on 218 wins apiece, while there is also nothing to separate north-London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Man City's Matchweek 18 opponents, Leicester, have perhaps got the most out of their victories.
The Foxes have won a much lower 85 matches, yet still lifted the 2015/16 title and continue to challenge Liverpool for this season's Premier League Trophy.
