Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie (shoulder) is a doubt for the next three fixtures, while Lys Mousset (ankle) is struggling to start matches.

John Lundstram is suspended, and Jack O'Connell (knee) and Sander Berge (hamstring) are long-term absentees.

Everton will check on Richarlison after the Brazilian suffered a head knock in the EFL Cup tie against Manchester United.

James Rodriguez (calf) is doubtful, while Allan, Lucas Digne and Fabian Delph remain sidelined.

Jayden Bogle scored on his Premier League debut for Sheffield United last time out. At 20 years and 152 days, he can now become the youngest player to score in his first two appearances since Anthony Martial in September 2015 at 19 years and 289 days.

Sheff Utd can be the first PL team to win on Boxing Day while being bottom of the table since 2013, when Sunderland beat Everton.

Following their 1-0 win at Bramall Lane last season, Everton are looking to win back-to-back league trips to Sheff Utd for the first time since January 1897.

Everton have won their last three PL matches, last winning four in a row in their first four matches of this campaign. They haven’t had two runs of 4+ wins in the same league season since the 1986/87 campaign.
