Have you ever wished you could score points when your favourite Premier League managers win matches? The new Assistant Manager chip means that you can do just that in Fantasy Premier League.

Here are the FIVE key things you need to know about the Assistant Manager chip before you activate it.

1. The chip runs for THREE consecutive Gameweeks

When you activate your Assistant Manager chip, your chosen Assistant Manager will join your team for three consecutive Gameweeks. For example, if you activate the chip for Double Gameweek 25, it will run for Gameweeks 25-27. During the time when the Assistant Manager chip is active, you will NOT be able to use any other chip.

2. Assistant Managers will cost between £0.5 and £1.5m

Assistant Managers have different price tags, with the ones who are most likely to produce wins and goals the most expensive. There are five Assistant Managers priced at each price point. Once the chip is activated and the three Gameweeks have been completed, the money spent on your Assistant Manager will be returned to your FPL bank.

3. Assistant Managers earn points for different criteria

Assistant Managers earn six points for a win, three points for a draw, one point for each goal and two points for a clean sheet.

Assistant Managers can also earn additional "table bonus" points if they win or draw against a team who are five or more places above them in the Premier League table at the start of the Gameweek. In such a scenario, they get an extra 10 extra points for a win (so 16 in total) and five points for a draw (eight points in total).

4. You can swap your Assistant Manager

Once you have selected your Assistant Manager, you can still change them in the second and third Gameweeks that the chip is active. This will require you to use a free transfer or take a -4 points hit, just like you would to change a player in your squad.

Remember, the Assistant Manager chip falls within the three-players-per-club quota. So, for example, if you already own Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) and you bring in Arne Slot (£1.5m), you would only have room for one more Liverpool player for those three Gameweeks.

5. You can play the chip in a Double Gameweek

If you play the chip across a Double Gameweek, you will have FOUR matches in which your Assistant Manager will score points - two in the Double and then the other two Gameweeks that the chip is active for.
