Wolverhampton Wanderers bounced back from their Matchweek 1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers with a 3-0 victory over Southampton in Premier League 2 Division 2.
Wolves took the lead at the end of the first half when Dan Armstrong curled a free-kick past goalkeeper Jack Rose, a debutant for Southampton, and into the top corner.
Donovan Wilson doubled the hosts’ advantage seven minutes after the break with a close-range finish, and substitute Sherwin Seedorf wrapped up the win when his driven strike found the corner in second-half stoppage time.
Both Wolves and Saints have three points from two matches. Saints host Blackburn next, on Friday 25 August, with Wolves meeting Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion at Molineux on Monday 28 August.
