Joelinton's first-half brace and another Bruno Guimaraes goal continued Newcastle United's good form as a 3-0 victory at Norwich City lifted them into the top half of the Premier League table for the first time this season.
Both teams came close to an opener in the opening 10 minutes, with Jacob Murphy's shot flashing narrowly wide for Newcastle, before Kieran Dowell lobbed over the bar for Norwich when one-on-one with Martin Dubravka.
Joelinton put Newcastle in control with two goals in six minutes on his 100th Premier League appearance, firstly curling the ball into the top corner on 35 minutes before tapping in a Murphy cross from close range.
Guimaraes intercepted a Tim Krul pass and dinked the ball over the Norwich 'keeper to make it 3-0 shortly after the break, his third goal in three matches.
Dowell worked Dubravka from a free-kick and Teemu Pukki came close but Norwich could not find a consolation goal.
They remain bottom with 21 points, eight adrift of safety.
Newcastle's fourth straight win lifts them above Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion into ninth, with 43 points from 34 matches.
