A goal and an assist in Arsenal's 3-0 home win over Chelsea has made Alexis Sanchez (£11.1m) the most sought-after midfielder in Gameweek 6, but a team-mate is also worthy of consideration.

Sanchez’s 14-point return against Chelsea, his third double-figure haul in the last four Gameweeks, has earned him over 144,000 new FPL owners ahead of Friday’s 7pm BST deadline as he flourishes as a lone forward.

Sitting three points off the top of the FPL player standings, Sanchez's displays have overshadowed Theo Walcott (£7.5m) among Arsene Wenger's regulars.

Walcott’s first-half strike on Saturday took his tally to three goals and two assists for the season as his renaissance as an FPL asset continues.

Walcott was named in Arsenal first XI on 15 occasions in 2015/16 and found the net just five times. This season Walcott has started all six of Arsenal's Premier League matches on the right.

As a result, he is ranked joint-top in midfield for shots inside the box (16), along with West Ham United's Michail Antonio (£7.3m). Sanchez has 14.

Despite featuring on the flank, Walcott also betters Sanchez for total attempts (18 to 16) and has 11 shots on target, three more than the Chilean and top for midfielders.

For touches inside the box, Walcott again fares well. His total of 40 is fourth in midfield, behind Manchester City's Raheem Sterling (£8.6m, 62), Sanchez (46) and Antonio (41).

Next up for Arsenal is a promising trip to Turf Moor on Sunday, against a Burnley side who have conceded 102 efforts on goal, a total only Hull City (139) and Sunderland (112) outdo.

With fixtures against Swansea City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland to follow over the next four Gameweeks, the popular Sanchez (17.6% ownership) looks perfectly placed to reward this show of faith by FPL managers.

Yet with Santi Cazorla (£7.6m) and Mesut Ozil (£9.5m) lacking consistency, the 3%-owned Walcott has emerged as the most appealing option for those keen to double up on Arsene Wenger's thriving attack.
