Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne scored two goals each as Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 5-2 victory over Southampton that puts them six victories away from securing the title.
De Bruyne netted a close-range opener 15 minutes in but Southampton struck back through a James Ward-Prowse penalty awarded for a pull on Jannik Vestergaard.
Mahrez restored City's lead on 40 minutes, curling a sublime effort beyond Alex McCarthy after Che Adams had given the ball away.
In first-half stoppage time Ilkay Gundogan took his goal tally to 12 for the season as he reacted quickest to Mahrez's shot coming back off a post.
In the second half Phil Foden set up Mahrez for his second before doing likewise for De Bruyne, who nutmegged a Southampton defender and steered home.
Adams pulled a goal back in between those strikes but Southampton could not mount a comeback as they stay 14th on 33 points.
In bouncing back from their first loss in 16 Premier League matches in the Manchester derby, Man City extend their lead over second-placed Manchester United to 14 points, having played one match more.
