Derby County kicked off their Premier League International Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Monaco.
Second-half goals from 18-year-old Callum Minkley and Jahmal Hector-Ingram, 20, secured maximum points against their French opponents.
Jayden Mitchell-Lawson played a key part in both goals, crossing to assist the opener and winning a penalty for the second in what was the opening Group F match.
"We had to be patient with the ball, and stand up to their physicality as they play in a men's league week in, week out," Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, Pat Lyons, told Derby's official website.
"It was a great experience and another challenge that we've come out on top."
Derby resume their Premier League 2 Division 1 campaign at home to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
The next match of this season's International Cup is on 15 October when Monaco play Feyenoord.
